After a few days of action-packed racing at the UCI Cross-country World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, Ronja Blöchlinger took home her second medal of the weekend in the Women's U23 Cross-country Olympic XCO. Following her win from earlier this week in the U23 Cross-country Short Track XCC, Blöchlinger continued her momentum with another podium spot in front of her home crowd. "Racing the World Cup in Lenzerheide is always a highlight for me, it's close to where I grew up, and a lot of old friends and family come out to cheer, it's great to have the support and show them the sport that I am so passionate about."-Blöchlinger.
The Liv Factory Racing athlete had a good start out of the gate but after a pedal strike caused a brief dropped chain, she was forced to spend the remaining laps closing in the gaps once again. Despite the delay, Blöchlinger still finished in second place with a time of 1:12:53, just 11 seconds behind first place, racing on her Pique Advanced Pro 29. During a post-race interview, she stated, "I kept seeing the leader Sophia ahead of me and with each lap I was shortening the gap, but I couldn't overtake her and she took the win. I'm really happy with my second place and it makes me hungrier to win the next round."
