Melisa Rollins breaks the women’s course record and becomes the second female rider to finish under seven hours and crosses the finish line in second place.

Liv Racing Collective’s Melisa Rollins returned to the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB for another standout performance, finishing second and breaking the course record to become the second-fastest woman ever on the Leadville course. Riding her custom-built Pique Advanced, Rollins crossed the finish line in under seven hours, with a time of 6:59:16. She reflected on this emotional milestone. “When I lined up for my first Leadville 8 years ago, I never could have dreamed that one day I’d be fighting to make history on course. This is the first time 2nd place has still felt like a big win.”

Following up from her first-place victory last year, this milestone and podium finish still holds great significance for Rollins. “Leadville is one of the most special places to me, and it changes me every time I cross that line. This time was no different.” She continued. “I think what makes Leadville so special is that people care arguably more about your finish time than your finish place. It’s a landmark, it’s tangible.”

Known for its high-altitude and legendary climbs, the Leadville Trail 100 MTB is no small feat, requiring years of incremental gains and training. “It’s addicting to make small changes and see real improvement… and you know I’m already plotting for next year.” Reflecting on her journey, Rollins added, “When I first lined up here, I never would have believed where it could take me, and I hope there is someone else out there on a similar trajectory.”
