Liv Racing Collective athlete Lisa Tertsch has been crowned the Women’s Elite World Triathlon Champion after claiming the win at the Championship Finals in Wollongong, Australia. Tertsch crossed the finish line with a look of joyful disbelief and with a time of 1:56:50. Racing the bike portion on her EnviLiv Advanced SL, she stayed consistent throughout and didn’t let the heat or pressure throw her off pace. “It was even better than anything I hoped for,” Tertsch said after the finish. “I was looking for a podium both in the race and in the overall series, but I would never have expected to win both!”
On a tough course featuring a choppy ocean swim and strong winds, Tertsch put together a composed and consistent race from start to finish. She came out of the 1.5 km swim near the front and quickly settled into a strong rhythm on the bike, managing her effort and pace. Staying in control and steadily picking off the leaders, she gradually pulled clear on the last lap on the run with a sprint to the line, earning both the race victory and the overall World Triathlon Championship title. “Running towards the finish line and seeing the blue banner lifted up for me, and hearing the crowd cheering, it was an incredible feeling,” she said.
Reflecting on the moment, Tertsch added, “It still feels a bit surreal for me. Becoming World Champion was a goal for the future, but certainly not for this season.” Heading into the Finals, Tertsch sat fourth in the overall standings, but Sunday’s win was enough to propel her to the top, earning her the 2025 Women’s Elite World Champion title. This season also included her third German Triathlon Championships national title and now a World Title.
Liv Racing Collective teammate Emma Lombardi also delivered a standout performance in Wollongong, claiming third place in the Finals after an aggressive ride, aboard her EnviLiv Advanced SL, and strong run effort. Her result marked an impressive comeback and a powerful finish to her 2025 season, highlighting the strength and depth of the Liv Racing Collective squad on the world stage.
Congratulations, Lisa and Emma, on an incredible season!
