On Sunday, August 12, Liv closed Whistler’s A-Line Jump Trail to the public on the first weekend of Crankworx to give exclusive, intimidation-free trail access to 152 women and girls, the largest number of participants since the event's inception six years ago.
The Women’s Only A-Line Session was designed to bring women together for a freeride shred session on A-Line, a 1,200 vertical-foot flowy jump trail featuring masterfully sculpted berm turns, jumps and tables that is recognized as one of the most iconic flow trails in the world. This year, the 150 maximum participant spots were filled less than 12 hours after registration opened. It’s easy to see what keeps bringing women back and encourages new attendees year after year.
In a no-pressure environment, participants can progress their riding to new levels with the encouragement of Liv ambassadors like Katie Holden, Leigh Donovan and Lindsey Richter, staff and fellow riders. Event-goers also had the opportunity to demo the Hail Advanced, Liv’s 160mm enduro bike and receive technical assistance from SRAM on site. Throughout the event, the stoke level soars through the roof, as the fun continues with post-ride après and prize giveaways. This year, the grand prize winner walked away with a brand new 2019 Liv Intrigue Advanced 2.
“Liv Canada is honored to bring together women from around the globe for this world-class event,” said Amalie Gunn, Liv Brand Specialist, Canada. “The Liv A-Line Session is one of the largest women’s only bike park events in North America.”
Women and girls ages 12-60 from around the world, including Spain, the U.K., Australia and the U.S. participated in this year’s event.
