The highlight of the three-day women's tour was Friday's Stage 2, the "Queen Stage." Though the shortest of the three days, it was by far the toughest with the majority of the route's 46 mi / 74 km on roads that pointed uphill. The final ascent to the base of Mt. Baldy Ski Resort set the scene for the winning move when two teammates went clear. Moolman Pasio followed, and although she couldn't catch the break, she distanced herself from the rest of the pack and finished third. That finish, along with a fifth place on Stage 1 and 14th on Stage 3 confirmed her position on the general classification podium.
“We have achieved the maximum with a very nice third place”, said sports director Jeroen Blijlevens.
Next up, CCC-Liv will head to Germany for LOTTO Thüringen Ladies Tour, May 27- June 2.
