Liv Racing Collective's Lisa Tertsch powers to victory at the latest stop of the World Triathlon Championship Series in Tiszaújváros, Hungary. Racing on her EnviLiv Advanced SL, Tertsch combined brilliant bike tactics with a strong run to take the win, despite hot and humid conditions.
Tertsch took control early in the race, exiting the swim near the front and executing a fast transition onto the bike. She quickly settled into a leading group on the bike portion, creating a solid gap over the rest of the field. The trio broke away from the chase pack and entered T2 with a comfortable lead. From there, Tertsch followed up with a strong run and dominated the final sprint, in true Tertsch style.
“I am very happy to take the win this weekend and do it from a bike breakaway this time!” Tertsch said. “I was looking to win this race, but I also had some clear learning goals and new tactics that I wanted to try out, which worked really well. So I am excited about the process and the results.”
While the course and conditions were familiar, Tertsch said her lead-up to the race was relatively straightforward. “For this race, I practiced my transitions and did some runs and rides in the heat to adapt my body to hot conditions,” she explained. “This was the result I wanted and worked for,” Tertsch said. “I knew I could be strong and shape the race, but triathlon is so unpredictable that you can never take a win for granted.”
After a strong race season so far, Tertsch currently leads the overall series ranking. Stay tuned as she heads to the World Triathlon Championship Series in Hamburg on Saturday, July 12.
