CCC-Liv Team rider Marianne Vos won the Tour of Norway in style Sunday, capturing her third stage victory and wrapping up the overall win at the four-day WorldTour stage race.

This time Vos did it with her sprinting power, launching the winning move about 300 meters from the finish line in Halden. She blasted away from the field and held off two Italian riders, Marta Bastianelli and Ilaria Sanguineti, to take the stage win along with the overall Tour of Norway victory for the third straight year.

The CCC-Liv Team leader came into the final stage with a 5-second lead over American Coryn Rivera in the general classification after winning Stage 2 and Stage 3. The final stage, a 154km route that started at the Norway/Sweden border on the Svinesbund bridge, wound through the two Scandinavian countries and was the longest of the race. It finished with four laps of a finishing circuit in Halden, Norway, which included a short cobblestone section near the finish.

“It was a long stage, but there was so much action that it was really fast,” Vos said afterward. “First and foremost, it was about being safe in the general classification. But when we got to the final lap and I was still in a good position, we decided also to go for the sprint. The team did a perfect job all day to keep me fresh and safe, so I had something left in the tank and wanted to give my all at the finish.”

Riding her Liv Langma Advanced SL with a CADEX WheelSystem, the three-time UCI Road World Champion did just that, taking the stage in convincing fashion and winning the GC by 29 seconds over Rivera. Canadian Leah Kirchmann was third overall.
