What is your biggest achievement? | I think that on paper Pan American Downhill Champion, US Grand Prix Champion, and jumping a trophy truck on live TV are my most impressive achievements. But, for me, the platform that cycling has given me to connect with people, open minds, and inspire others to get a little uncomfortable is what feels like my biggest achievement. That's what puts a smile on my face and pushes me each day. I think that we are best when we are inspired, challenging ourselves, meeting new people, and trying new things. Bikes give me all of that on a daily basis and I want to inspire action, inclusion and acceptance. |
What is your professional goal for 2017? | To ride my bikes in as many places as I can, with as many people as I can, and create great content to share the experiences. |
Why do you love cycling? | I love the community! I love how it makes me feel: the endorphins, the adrenaline, the successes (and the struggles). I love that I can travel anywhere in the world on my bike and I will have a crew of new friends within a couple of days. |
Why do you love riding for Liv? | Because it's like a big family. It is the most inclusive brand I have ever had the privilege of working with and I feel like I can be myself here. Liv accepts me for me! |
What is one item you would never leave home without? | My camera! |
If you could learn a new sport or skill this year, what would it be? | Climbing and bouldering... and open water swimming! Oh and parking lot tricks on my bike! I always get schooled by 5-year-old boys doing wheelies wherever I go! |
What is your favorite place to travel? | Everywhere? Anywhere. Anytime. I am really into the Middle East right now. I have spent a lot of time in South America and have a real soft spot for it. Canada. I love Asia too! |
What is your favorite food? | Tuna Poke and Baba Ganoush... not together. |
Who is your favorite riding partner? | Jill Kintner, anyone who likes hot laps in the Whistler Bike Park and my friends who I meet in my travels that take me on fun adventures. |
How do you spend your time off the bike? | Eating good food and talking to people. |
What do you want to be "when you grow up"? | I want to be better at what I am doing now. I want to continually improve my skills and endurance so I can hop on a bike with any crew and hang. I want to travel to every country at some point. I want to be a better photographer and filmmaker. I would love to be a UN Goodwill Ambassador someday. Basically, I want to blend all the things I love into one. |
Words you live by... | You have exactly one life to do everything you will ever do, act accordingly. |
