South African National Championships took place this week in Pretoria, starting with the Women’s Elite Time Trial on Thursday and ending with Saturday’s Elite Women’s Road Race. After a disappointing Individual Time Trial, CCC-Liv rider Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio rode a dominating race Saturday to come away with the National Road Title.
The win marked her fifth National Road Championship victory, though the last year she achieved the prize was 2015. A three-year drought and her performance Thursday made Moolman-Pasio hungry for victory. During the final lap of Saturday’s race, she made her break, riding away from her closest competitor to finish solo and nearly two minutes ahead of second.
“I finally managed again to get this prize,” said Moolman-Pasio. “It still is a special title.”
Moolman-Pasio secured the National Championship title aboard her Langma Advanced SL wearing the CCC-Liv team issue Rev Liv Helmet, Macha Pro Road Shoe, and team kit powered by Etxeondo. Learn more about CCC-Liv’s Langma, featuring the all-new SRAM Red eTap group set HERE>
