What is the main cycling discipline you ride/race?

Mountain biking

Favorite Liv bike?

Pique Advanced Pro 29

How did you get into cycling?

My dad bought me a fully rigid mountain bike in 1998 to commute around the UT campus in Austin, Tx. I decided to take it out to the rocky and technical trails along the greenbelt in Austin. It was really challenging but made me feel so cool, so I kept at it!

What do you hope to achieve as a Liv Global Ambassador?

I hope that through our skills camps, we will continue to grow a diverse community of women that feel seen and heard in the mountain biking world and gain confidence in their riding abilities and daily pursuits.

Where is your favorite place to ride?

The North Umpqua River Trail in Oregon

You're on a road trip to your favorite riding spot. Are you listening to a podcast or music? What's on your playlist?

Music! I love all the kinds. Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson to Die Antwoord and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

If you could choose any person to ride with (anywhere in the world, living or not living), who would it be and why?

Tom Petty. Because he's my hero. He was my coming of age music, and brought so much energy, reflection and excitement to my life over the years. I felt a deep loss when he died.

What would you say to a non-cyclist or someone who is just getting into the sport to encourage them?

If you don't love the "drudgery" of exercise, mountain biking is your sport. You are outside in the woods, with friends, challenging yourself and it often doesn't even feel hard because it's so fun!

Do you have a favorite cycling tip to share?

Take a lesson! Or 3! The confidence and skill you can gain from professional instruction is a game changer. Maybe I'm biased, but it's true.

Words you live by:

A Mark Twain quote that is something to the effect of..... "It's not what you don't know that gets you into trouble, it's what you know for sure that just ain't so!"
