My Achievements |
|
How did you get into cycling? | I started by wanting to get into Adventure Racing and Multisport with my dad and uncle. After entering my first race I used the "family bike" which I shared with my brothers. I loved the mountain bike section so much I went home and joined my local club and never looked back. |
I am committed to... | racing my bike at the highest level and continuing to improve myself. |
What piece of advice would you give your 13-year-old self? | Believe in yourself and wear sunscreen. |
Why do you ride? | I love getting out into nature away from traffic and into incredible places with insane views. I love the people you meet and share adventures with. I love the physical challenge, fitness and health benefits it brings, and of course I love the adrenaline rush you get from riding fast or doing something that scares me. It gives me peace on the inside, physical health, and an adventurous thrill. |
Who inspires you? | I do get excited and inspired by anyone overcoming odds, taking chances and living their dream. It's easy to play victim or make excuses, it's really hard to rise above and turn pain into strength- anyone who can do that is an inspiration. |
What's your secret talent? | Knuckle bones. A game we use to play as kids, I'm weirdly amazing at it. Haha. |
What is one thing you learned about yourself in 2020? | With all the disruption to schedules and lives and being in quarantine and lockdown, I really learnt to love all the little things. Getting outside and exercising really became a freedom and something I didn't take for granted, same with seeing friends and family. I definitely learnt appreciate everything a lot more. |
