The Langma Advanced Disc has won Bicycling Magazine’s coveted Editors’ Choice award for outstanding performance in the road bike category. New to Liv’s lineup for 2018, the Langma was quick to win over editors and riders alike when it was launched at the Giro Rosa in June of last year. This latest honor was awarded to the Langma Advanced Disc, the lineup’s lower price point model at the Sea Otter Classic on April 20.
While the Langma Advanced Disc is more affordable than her top-end sister, the Langma Advanced SL 0, testers praised the bike’s snappy feel and capable components which include a mixed Shimano Ultegra and 105 drivetrainand Giant Conduct hydraulic disc brakes.
“This women’s climbing and racing bike is one on which new racers can confidently roll up to the start line,” said reviewer Riley Missel.
Just 16 road bikes were chosen to receive the Editors’ Choice after rigorous testing and comparison from Bicycling Magazine staff. From the entire market of road bikes, 43 finalists were brought to a week-long test camp where winners were chosen based on value, technology, performance, and wow-factor.
Out of the hundreds of road bikes in the market, it was Lanmga Advanced Disc’s performance-boosting qualities that won out.
“The bike didn’t hold us back from aggressive riding and hot cornering,” said Missel, “and it responded surely and quickly to the tiny directional hip twitches that make all the difference when rides are their most intense.”
