Liv Racing triathlete Allysa Seely added another gold medal to her already perfect season in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on Friday, extending her winning streak to seven consecutive first place finishes. The ITU World Paratriathlon was the last in the regular season and marked the beginning of the qualification period for Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Seely exited the 750-meter swim six seconds ahead of her competition and increased her lead with a quick T1. Onto the Avow Advanced Pro for the 20km bike course, she had fallen into second place but regained the lead during the 5km run and crossed the finish line seven seconds ahead of her Team USA teammate Hailey Danz.
“The competition was hungry and not going to let me walk away with another win without a tremendous fight, resulting in the closest finish of a race in multiple seasons,” said Seely. “Huge congratulations to my competitor, but more importantly training partner, Hailey for smashing it out there.”
Next up, Seely will head to Tokyo, Japan for the Olympic Test and World Qualification event August 15-18.
