Liv’s all-new aero road racing machine equipped with sleek and powerful disc brakes was unveiled in September, and ever since team riders, fans, and critics have all been drooling over EnviLiv Advanced Disc’s undeniable good looks.
After getting the chance to put EnviLiv’s tires to pavement, editors from cycling publications across the globe are raving. Here’s just some of what they have to say:
“The EnviLiv is unbelievably responsive, partially due to the lightweight, stiff frame that rockets forward with just a few punchy pedal strokes,” wrote Riley Missel in her review for Bicycling. “I whipped up hills with relative ease and found myself following faster wheels than usual and initiating sprints...Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t a motor in this thing—but it made me feel faster, stronger, and more badass than I have in a while.”
“Say hello to the frankly gorgeous higher-performance race bike the Liv EnviLiv,” touted BikeRadar’s Aoife Glass. While in a separate BikeRadar article Benedict Pfender wrote, “We also rather like the colour scheme Liv has chosen for this bike, with a paint job that doesn’t necessarily scream out that this is female specific. Instead, this is simply a racing machine focussed on speed, which happens to be designed for women.”
But it’s not just EnviLiv’s fast-looking, advanced composite, women’s-specific frame that is catching the attention of the cycling community’s top critics. The bike features thoughtful spec with top-of-the-line components and proprietary technology.
Canadian Cycling Magazine’s Kate Heckman describes some of EnviLiv’s notable tech:
“One of the more striking changes you see on the EnviLiv Advanced Pro 0 Disc, compared with the previous Liv Envie Advanced Pro, is the aero bar and integrated stem that keep all of the brake and shift cables hidden from the wind… For the new bike, designers have made sure the fork has increased isolated lateral stiffness to ensure better control. The frame’s tubes have a truncated airfoil shape to them for the best aerodynamics.”
Also noted where the Giant SLR Aero Disc Wheels featured on the EnviLiv Advanced Pro 0. Liv put substantial research in to determine the bike’s spec’d front wheel rim depth of 42mm and rear rim depth of 65mm creates the greatest amount of time-saving on the road without the negative effect of crosswinds. The bike also comes equipped with tubeless 25c tires and enough room to bump up to 28c. But, what does all that mean for ride quality?
“On my early rides, I noticed the bike is very responsive. It offered smooth accelerations on hills and quick jumps for sprints. I rode over some cobbles (more interlocking brick than Carrefour de l’Arbre pavé) and the bike was surprisingly supple,” Heckman concurred.
As some editors noted, EnviLiv is the next evolution of the award-winning Envie that launched in 2013. A favorite among Liv athletes of all levels for years, the all-new frame design sparks even more excitement for the coming season. On the elite road racing scene, EnviLiv joins Langma in CCC-Liv Team’s line-up of race-ready bikes. Beyond the Women’s WorldTour, EnviLiv is the perfect match for Liv’s sponsored triathletes who put endless training miles on their road bikes and prefer the snappy, blazing-fast ride delivered by Liv’s AeroSystem tube shaping. Liv Ambassadors around the world have also chosen EnviLiv as their all-around road bike in 2019 for its precise handling and unparalleled power transfer through each pedal stroke.
