Liv Racing enduro athletes were out in force for round six of the Enduro World Series in Whistler, BC, Canada. Isabella Naughton scored Liv’s top finish at the race with a strong second-place in the U21 category. It was the 18-year-old’s first EWS of the year and only her second time ever racing in the series.

Taking place during the first weekend of Crankworx, EWS Whistler draws top athletes from around the world which made for the biggest race in EWS history. For the first time, the race was split over two days with the 11km, 1526m descent from Whistler’s Top of the World taking place on Saturday. After the monster stage on day 1, Naughton sat in P2 with just seconds separating the top three competitors.

Riders woke up Sunday morning to wet, soggy conditions after a downpour overnight. The rain continued into the morning making for extremely slippery conditions on course. Naughton paced herself through the first few stages of the day, but found her flow aboard her Hail Advanced in time for the final stage, taking the win and moving into second-place overall.

“Day 1 was just one stage, but it was a very physically and mentally challenging stage that went from the top of the mountain to the bottom totaling about 24 minutes,” said Naughton. “Day 2 was a completely different story as it had rained the night before, this made each stage even more challenging due to mud and wet roots. I am extremely excited to land on the podium for my first EWS with Liv Racing!”

Rae Morrison and Leonie Picton also posted exciting results, finishing 6th and 17th, respectively. Stay tuned for our full recap including Q&A with the athletes, posted HERE later this week!
