Advanced Composite Technology
Liv’s High-Performance Grade raw carbon material is used to produce this frameset in our own composite factory. Using state-of-the-art materials and manufacturing techniques, Liv’s Advanced-Grade Composite frames are designed to offer light weight and stiffness with optimal compliance.
Advanced SL Composite Technology
Liv’s Professional Grade raw carbon material is woven in our own composite factory using our most advanced engineering and construction methods including: Continuous Fiber Technology to add strength while reducing weight; Carbon Nanotube Technology resin to improve impact resistance; and Fusion Process for lighter, stronger frame junctions.
Advanced Forged Composite Technology
A state-of-the-art, high-pressure molding process used to produce complex-shaped carbon fiber components that are lighter, stiffer and stronger than similar aluminum components.
ALUXX Aluminum Technology
This Performance level frame material features 6061 alloy with single-butted tubes to produce strong, lightweight framesets for a variety of different bikes and riding styles.
ALUXX SLR Aluminum Technology
This superlight Pro level aluminum material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any Liv aluminum frameset. State-of-the-art microscopic grain manipulation and advanced butting allows for 20 percent thinner and lighter tube shapes than ALUXX SL framesets.
AeroSystem Shaping Technology
Tubing shapes engineered using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind-tunnel data to optimize each tube shape for superior aerodynamic performance.
Compact Road Design
When introduced by Giant in 1990s, Compact Road revolutionized the look and feel of high-performance road bikes forever. A downward sloping toptube (from the headtube to the seattube) creates smaller front and rear triangles for a lighter, stiffer bike. It also makes it easier for riders of all sizes to have a perfect fit.
The proprietary “D” shaped composite seatpost damps vibration, resulting in a smooth, compliant ride.
The D-Fuse seatpost and handlebar were designed to function as a system to absorb shocks and vibrations from various surfaces, ensuring a smoother and more efficient ride.
This all-new technology allows you to quickly adjust the geometry of your bike to better suit riding conditions and rear-wheel size choice. Using two different flip chips – a combination high/ low and a dedicated mid-position chip – riders can change the head tube angle, seat tube angle and bottom bracket height using eccentric hardware located on the upper rocker arm of the rear suspension.
The flip chip allows riders to quickly adjust the geometry of their Maestro-equipped mountain bike to better suit how and where they ride. It lets riders change the headtube/seattube angles and bottom bracket height via eccentric (offset, two-position) hardware located on the upper rocker arm.
Designed as a key performance factor in the overall frameset, the integrated seatpost saves up to 45 grams compared to standard composite posts, while improving aerodynamics and adding road-smoothing compliance.
Internal Seatpost Clamp
A lightweight, all-internal seatpost locking mechanism provides confident clamping force with clean performance and aesthetics.
Hookless Rim Design
Hookless rim design enhances overall durability and offers a wider inner rim width without adding extra weight. It also helps to create a rounder tire shape providing superior grip and handling as well as added sidewall support when cornering.
Maestro Suspension Technology
Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.
A massive rectangular downtube and oversized toptube work in unison to provide superior front end lateral and torsional steering precision. The precisely engineered, rectangular shaped downtube yields unprecedented steering and pedaling stiffness.
The most advanced steerer tube technology in today’s Liv and Giant bikes. Designed to offer unprecedented front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/2” lower, 1 1/4” upper) and tapered steerer tube work in harmony to provide supreme steering stiffness.
Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, this fork steerer tube technology uses oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.
Found inside the head tube of the all-new EnviLiv range, the D-shaped fork steerer tube and corresponding spacers provide an extremely aerodynamic, easier to service system of internally routed brake and derailleur cables.
A massively oversized bottom-bracket/chainstay area features a fully integrated, 86-millimeter wide bottom-bracket design (92-millimeterwide for off-road bikes). Asymmetric chainstays provide additional stiffness on the driveside and stability on the non-driveside.
This means the frame comes prepared to accept the RideSense sensor and accompanying hardware.
Liv and Giant’s chainstay-integrated, wireless data transmitter. The removable transmitter sends wheel speed and cadence information directly to any ANT+ compatible computer.

The torque sensor continuously reads your pedaling input and adds the ideal support from the motor in a seamless, perfectly timed power boost that is proportional to your effort.

Gear Technologies & Features
Liv’s EasyRide Tubeless (ERT) technology is an easy solution for Sport-level riders who ride occasionally for light fitness or go on weekend adventures and are seeking the advantages of tubeless tire without the expensive upgrade or mess. A special integrated liner creates air chamber that functions similar to a tube so it is easier to pump up your tires—think, more user-friendly, value-oriented and safety than performance and speed.
Liv Rebound is optimal density foam with incredibly high elasticity and super light weight that provides long-lasting support.
The Mips® BPS (Brain Protection System) is designed to add protection in helmets against the rotational motion. The rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy (angular velocity) and rotational forces (from angular acceleration) that both affects the brain and increases the risk for minor and severe brain injuries. Mips® BPS has been scientifically proven to reduce rotational motion when implemented in a helmet by absorbing and redirecting rotational energies and forces transferred to the brain.
Mips Air Node™
Mips Air Node™ is a super light and slim helmet security system that moves 10-15 mm in relation to the helmet’s energy-absorbing layer, reducing the rotational forces that are otherwise transmitted to the brain during impact. Fully integrated into the helmet’s padding, Mips Air Node™ is as light as possible and designed to fit each individual helmet model and size, making it virtually invisible until needed.
Magnetic Fidlock® helmet buckles are intuitive, pinch-free and can be opened or closed with one hand, even while wearing gloves.
A tailor-made feel is now achievable through Particle Flow Technology, which are free-flowing particles are inserted into two separate pockets within the saddle structure. Virginia Tech 5 Star Rating
In collaboration with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Virginia Tech have rated a total of 128 bike helmets using the STAR evaluation system. The bicycle helmet impact tests evaluate a helmet's ability to reduce linear acceleration and rotational velocity of the head resulting from a range of impacts a cyclist might experience. Helmets with more stars provide a reduction in concussion risk for these impacts compared to helmets with less stars. Read more.
