Brain Protection System
MIPS, which stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System, is a patented...
Developed using both wind tunnel data and the input from the professional riders of Team Liv-Plantur, the Attacca aero road helmet has scored race wins against some of the fastest sprinters in the world. This aero helmet hits the sweet spot between wind-slicing speed and cooling ventilation, so you get the best of both worlds.
The overall helmet profile minimizes drag for solo riders and sprinters seeking an aerodynamic advantage. Designed to produce maximum speed in real-world rider positions, including when a rider is in a full sprint with her head down.
Strategically placed AeroVent ports optimize airflow through the helmet, which improves aerodynamics and adds head-cooling ventilation. Three large vents in the front and two smaller side vents act as “drag-neutral” intake ports, and four rear vents (two large, two small) push air out the back.
The AeroVent ports pull incoming air through the helmet and stream it through deep internal channels from front to back. The result is consistent ventilation that helps regulate temperatures during hard efforts, while maintaining superior aerodynamics.
These highly advanced natural fabrics fight bacteria growth by pulling sweat from a rider’s head and transferring it through the AeroVent exhaust ports. The natural property of the fabric inhibits microbes that cause odors.
Developed to reduce strain in the brain at impact, MIPS mimics the brain’s own protection system by adding a low friction layer between the head and the helmet. A helmet with MIPS is designed to reduce rotational motion in angled impacts. Available on select models.
