Wins for Radka Vodickova and Fiancé Brad Kahlefeldt at Ironman 70.3 Hefei!

Teams/Riders

Liv triathlete Radka Vodickova has stood on the podium at 8 out of 11 races so far in 2016, most recently finishing first at the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Hefei on Sunday. Although Vodickova is no stranger to the top step of the podium, it is an honor she rarely gets to share with her fiancé Brad “Sticksy” Kahlefeldt. Kahlefeldt earned his first win and podium of 2016, crossing the finish line with a time of 03:55:32. Vodickova finished less than twenty minutes later with a time of 4:13:50.

“My face says it all after crossing the finish line and finding out @sticksy won also at Hefei 70.3.” Vodickova posted on Twitter Monday.

The race consisted of a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim in the beautiful Swan Lake in the heart of Hefei, followed by a 56-mile (90 km) bike leg reaching south through the city and out to Chaohu Lake before ending with a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run. Vodickova emerged from the water in second place behind American Heather Lendway and fought to maintain position within the lead pack on her Avow Advanced Pro triathlon bike. But it was Vodickova that lead the charge on the run, finishing a cool three minutes ahead of the rest of the competition.
