Product testers have been raving about Liv’s all-new clipless performance road cycling shoe for women. It’s “stylish, stiff and light” design has received high marks for comfort and power transfer.

While Liv’s pro road teams have been putting the Macha Pro through its paces this during this year’s Women’s WorldTour season, reviewers at key cycling publications have also been assessing the road shoe. The verdict on the performance side has been glowing with stand-out performances from Kristen Faulkner (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) at Giro d’Italia Donne and Tour de Suisse and Rachele Barbieri (Liv Racing Xstra) at Bloeizone Fryslân Tour and Omloop der Kempen, both wearing Macha Pros. From the reviewers’ perspectives, the sentiments are just as positive.

“This shoe [the Macha Pro] was my favorite for the year and certainly one of the best cycling shoes currently on the market,” said Anne-Marije Rook of Cycling Weekly.

What won the reviewers over? For starters – the look. Rook says she fell in love with the shoes the moment she unboxed them. Calling the purple Chromaflair color “just stunning.” Emma Silversides of Road.cc also found herself smitten by styling of the Macha Pro, saying, “If you like to make a statement you’ll love them – part of me just wanted to buy a new bike to match them!” For those who might like a shoe that is more understated, the Macha Pro also comes in white.

Additionally, the shoe’s light weight and stiffness scored Macha Pro highly with the testers.

“My size 39 test pair [of Macha Pros] weighs in at just 406 grams on my kitchen scale, making them lighter than, say, the Specialized S-Works Torch, and definitely the lightest pair of shoes in my closet. With that said, the shoes have a good amount of sturdiness to them, which promises longevity,” said Rook.

“Not only is the sole stiff, but the wraparound upper is also noticeably stiffer than many road shoes I’ve tested, including the most recent, Giro’s Regimes. It hasn’t led to any discomfort though; rather, it envelops the foot and adds to that superior performance feel as it anchors the foot well,” said Silversides.
