GearJunkie reviewers chose Pique 29 as the best women’s mountain bike of 2020 for its women’s-specific shock tune, consistent handling across sizes, light weight, and superior spec.
“Liv did an impressive job in keeping handling consistent across sizes without dropping to a 27.5-inch wheel, something many brands do, which changes a bike’s ride feel and handling,” said reviewer Berne Broudy. “Even on the XS, there’s room for a water bottle in the frame.”
Though the aluminum Pique 29 2 was chosen for this review, Broudy notes that the bike features the same women’s-specific geometry found on the composite models raced by Liv Racing team riders. The Pique 29 2 model also maintains XC race-oriented spec, like a remote lockout for the 100mm fork and shock, a short-travel dropper seatpost, and 12-speed 1x drivetrain.
