Monday, August 24, 2020

CCC-Liv wrapped up a weekend of National Championship races in Europe Sunday. Marta Lach is your new Polish National Champion on the road, while Marta Jaskulska picked up a bronze medal to add to her U23 time trial title. In the Netherlands, Marianne Vos finished just off the podium in fourth.

With CCC-Liv athletes competing for national championship titles in Poland, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands over the weekend, it was 23-year-old Marta Lach who took home the Polish National Championship title on the road in her first year racing in the women’s elite category.

“Everything came together again in the last 7 kilometres,” said Lach. “I then waited for the right moment for the final sprint. I am incredibly happy that I get to wear the Polish jersey for a year. The last time was during my time in the junior league.”

Teammate Agnieszka Skalniak finished just behind Lach in fifth, while Marta Jaskulska finished third in the U23 category.

In the Netherlands, Marianne Vos was CCC-Liv’s top finisher Sunday, narrowly missing the podium in fourth place. She was followed by Riejanne Markus in ninth, Sabrina Stultiens in 12th, and Jeanne Korevaar in 14th.

Soraya Paladin was just outside the top-10 in the Italian road race, finishing 11th.

With a condensed schedule, CCC-Liv athletes have a quick turn-around, racing GP de Plouay and European Road Championships this week.
