Liv Racing athlete Lisa Tertsch of Germany was selected by the European Triathlon Union (ETU) executive board as the 2019 European Female Triathlete of the Year.

Lisa Tertsch, newcomer to Liv Racing in 2020, was awarded with the prestigious honor of Female Triathlete of the Year at the annual Presidents’ Conference and Awards Gala in Belarus on February 16. Selected by the ETU board for her outstanding performances in 2019, including wins in Dnipro, Antwerp at the ITU World Cup, Holten, Funchal ETU Cup Final, and the European Championships in addition to a bronze in Lausanne at the U23 World Championships, Tertsch is celebrated as one of the top triathletes in Europe.

“I was very excited to receive this award and I feel honored that I was selected as European Triathlete of the Year,” said Tertsch. “It also gives me a lot of motivation for the next months of training leading up to the Olympics. Some really great triathletes have received this award in the years before and maybe I can follow their footsteps!”

For 2020, Tertsch has two main goals: to win U23 World Championships and qualify for the Olympics. Her journey toward achieving those goals begins next week, with ITU World Triathlon Abu Dhabi on March 6.
