Liv Racing triathlete Radka Kahlefeldt finished third Saturday at the half distance Challenge Melbourne triathlon. Three weeks after winning Ironman 70.3 Davao in the Philippines, she fought through a tough race on home soil with the support of husband Brad and daughter Ruby.
Second out of the water, Kahlefeldt turned a quick transition and headed out onto the bike course on her Liv Avow Advanced Pro. The bike leg proved to be challenging and she fell behind, giving the race leader a three-minute advantage heading into the run. Strong on her feet, Kahlefeldt pulled back some time and crossed the finish line two minutes behind the second-place finisher.
“If you have a bad race, you can learn from it and it will make you stronger for the next one,” said Kahlefeldt. “I use it as good motivation. I am happy I kept fighting and still placed 3rd.”
Next up, Kahlefeldt will tackle the Asia Pacific Championship in DaNang, Vietnam on the 12th of May.
