First Impressions: Pinkbike Praises Intrigue SX
The 2016 Liv Intrigue SX was put through the paces by Pinkbike and came out on the other side atop of the coveted front page of the online mountain bike hub. Applauded for its comfortable women’s-specific geometry and fun-enhancing qualities, Pinkbike calls the Intrigue SX a “winning lottery ticket for so many women.”
Pinkbike reviewer Rachelle Frazer battled the heat and rough, rocky terrain in Sydney, Australia to get the low-down on Liv’s burliest bike of 2016. The 100-degree weather wasn’t as welcome as the chunky downhills that proved to be the perfect playground for the plush 160 mm Rock Shox Pike RCT3 and 140 mm Rock Shox Monarch Plus DebonAir RC. A lover of descents since her first foray into the sport at Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Frazer appreciated the Intrigue SX’s innate abilities when pointed down the hill.
“This is a bike that likes to lock in its line through sputtering rock gardens and encourages you to get your two wheels off the ground when there’s a chance to ‘send it’. Any hesitations I had with hitting new foreign trails were quickly put aside after spending approximately 3.5 minutes descending on the Liv.”
Frazer also shuts down the skeptics by pointing out the one thing you can’t tell from the geometry charts: how the bike actually rides. She notes, “like a good partner that’s worth their salt, it [the Intrigue SX] wants you to succeed.” Comfort, playfulness, and easy fit right out of the box make the Intrigue SX a ride that Pinkbike says will score well with women who want to rip.
