Gravel racing has changed.

Building the most race-focused Devote yet meant every detail had to earn its place. From weight savings to stiffness gains and total system efficiency, every improvement was tested and verified to deliver performance when the pace rises, terrain gets rough, and every advantage matters.

WEIGHT COMPARISON

Testing Definition: Size medium, unpainted production frame and fork, including headset and top cap, rear derailleur hardware, and all production hardware (water bottle bolts, etc.).

Units: All weights are measured in grams (g).

SUMMARY

The new Advanced SL-grade composite frameset reduces weight by 185 grams compared to the previous Devote Advanced Pro, marking the first time the Devote platform receives Advanced SL-grade composite construction. That reduction comes from advanced manufacturing methods including a proprietary carbon resin formula, Continuous Fiber Technology, fully integrated inner molding for a seamless unified structure, and precision cold-blade cutting to maintain fiber continuity throughout the layup.

As a complete race system, the Devote Advanced SL 0 — including the frameset, Liv Contact SLR XR Integrated Handlebar, CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem, and CADEX GXR 45mm race tires — weighs 4,223 grams. That’s 297 grams lighter than the equivalent previous-generation system, despite the addition of wider 45mm race tires.

SYSTEM HANDLING STIFFNESS-TO-WEIGHT RATIO1.31.8+38.5%

SUMMARY

The new Devote Advanced SL 0 with CADEX Max GXR WheelSystem delivers a 17.7% increase in system pedaling stiffness and a 26.7% increase in system handling stiffness compared to the previous Devote Advanced Pro system. When measured as stiffness-to-weight ratio, the metric that matters most for race performance, those gains increase to 25% in pedaling efficiency and 38.5% in handling efficiency.

The result is a significantly more efficient and responsive race system, delivering sharper power transfer under load, more precise handling through loose corners, and greater confidence when speeds stay high across rough gravel terrain.

TOTAL RESISTANCE COMPARISON

Gravel is faster. Margins are smaller. Aerodynamics matter more than ever. But a bike doesn’t race alone.

Developed using the body dimensions of Liv AlUla Jayco athlete Georgia Baker as a reference point, “Georgia” is a next-generation wind tunnel mannequin designed to better represent a woman’s body and riding position during aerodynamic testing.

Built with realistic torso shaping and dynamic pedaling motion, Georgia allows engineers to evaluate how the rider and bike move through the wind together — ensuring aerodynamic gains are developed for the way the Devote Advanced SL is actually raced.

SUMMARY

The Devote Advanced SL introduces AeroSystem Shaping across the frameset, fork, and cockpit for the first time, reducing aerodynamic drag and improving total system efficiency across modern gravel race conditions. Compared to the previous Devote Advanced Pro, wind tunnel testing confirms a total system savings of 20.03 watts using rider positions matched to the intended geometry and riding style of each platform. The previous Devote Advanced Pro was tested in a more upright all-road gravel position, while the Devote Advanced SL was tested in its new race-focused riding position developed around lower stack, longer reach, and a more aggressive front-end setup.

Rolling resistance improvements further increase overall efficiency. At equivalent tire pressure, the CADEX GXR 45mm tire generates 3.03 watts less rolling resistance per bike than the previous CADEX GX 40mm tire, while also increasing tire volume for improved control and capability across rough terrain.

Together, reduced aerodynamic drag, lower rolling resistance, and a more race-focused riding position create a faster and more efficient gravel race system designed to conserve energy, maintain momentum, and carry speed deeper into demanding race efforts.
