Manual Pumping | Intermediate MTB Skill Guide

Pumping will help you maintain speed, making your riding smoother and more efficient. Here are tips for using the manual technique for pumping:

  1. When entering rollers, allow the front wheel to come up with ease by extending the arms and legs on the upslope of the roller.
  2. On top of the roller, come back to center by bending your arms and legs.
  3. On the backside of the roller, push into your feet and straighten your arms and legs. Applying pressure on the backside allows you to create momentum for the next roller.
