Reviews & Product News

Road.CC Writer, Emma Silversides, recently reviewed the road warrior that is the Avail Advanced Pro and awarded it a fantastic 9/10 rating, as well as a road.cc recommends title.

Emma expressed that this women’s specific endurance bike “strikes an impressive balance between racing performance and long-distance comfort”.

Following on from this, the Road.CC Writer turned her attention towards the “impressive fusion of comfort and performance” that this bike offers, while acknowledging that the geometry is “suited to cyclists who want to ride all day”.

Emma tested the bike on rides ranging from 40 to 230 km; and advised that the biggest attribute of this model is “the comfort it offers on rougher roads”.

While focusing on comfort, Emma went on to explain features such as the D-Fuse seatpost and D-Fuse handlebar that are designed to absorb road vibrations, without sacrificing efficiency on corners and climbs - the result? A smoother ride on variable terrain.

One of the significant changes to the frameset is the fact that it can now accommodate up to 38mm tyres, which is an increase of 3mm when compared to the previous Avail.

This specific model comes with 32mm tyres which Emma gave credit to throughout the review, “The Avail Advanced Pro 0 has convinced me that 32mm is well suited to our increasingly rough roads on a road bike too”.

When it comes to the aesthetics of the bike, Emma commented, “to say the bike is pleasing to the eye is an understatement”... Focus was then placed on the internally routed cables that “create clean lines and a sleek look”.

Emma then concluded that the “raw carbon appearance finishes it all off perfectly”; and expressed that “it looks even more impressive up close than it does from a distance”.

From a technical perspective, Emma expressed her thoughts on the Shimano Ultegra Di2 groupset, to which she was impressed with how “smooth and effortless the gear changes are”.

Moving towards the finishing kit, praise was also given to the 400mm bar which Emma found ideal, “my wrists haven’t been strained, and engaging my upper body and arms (when out the saddle) has felt comfortable and efficient”.

Concluding the review, Emma confirmed that she was “thoroughly impressed” with this bike and stated that this endurance machine is “versatile and comfortable without compromising on performance.
