What makes our Elite E-mountain bikes different from others is that we use a full power “full fat” motor and can tap into all of its power and torque even with a 400 Watt hour battery.

High power and high torque outputs on any E-bike motor rely on high Amps coming from the battery and only our battery at this size can generate enough Amps to be able to offer full fat performance in a lightweight package.

Giant SyncDrive Pro 2 Motor

  • The SyncDrive Pro 2 motor we use for the Elite E-bikes is light at 2.75 kilos.
  • It’s very compact so has great ground clearance for riding in rocky terrain.
  • It has a narrow Q factor which means that the pedals are the same width apart as you’d find on a regular bike so it feels natural.
  • Maximum torque is 85 Newton metres for great acceleration and climbing ability but can be adjusted to as low as 20 Newton metres.
  • Maximum power output is in excess of 600 watts and the system automatically this power output for when you or the terrain needs it.

How much you put in vs the motor is referred to as the “assistance level”. This motor has an adjustable assistance level of between 50% and 400% so the motor can put in between half of what you put in and up to 4 times your input. Less assistance for when you want more of a workout and a longer range per battery charge or more assistance for when you want the motor to do most of the hard work. This is fully and easily adjustable.

An additional level of adjustment is what we call “Launch Control”. This alters how quickly the torque and power come in. You can have maximum torque is just 19 hundredths of a second or if you prefer it to come in a little slower then there are 7 different levels to choose from.

All of these adjustments can be made through the very easy to use RideControl app which is free to download on any Android or Apple smartphone. This gives you the control to make the bike ride exactly how you want for your riding style and your terrain.

If you are planning a big ride out then turn down the levels to extend the range of the battery or if you only have a couple of hours after work then crank everything up to the max.

These bikes can be what you need them to be. Dr Jekyll, Mr Hyde and anything in between.

This motor like all of our electric motors has an auto mode called Smart Assist. This is the default setting whenever you switch the bike on. In this mode 6 sensors within the system work together to decide exactly how much power, torque and assistance you need right there then. It even knows if you are riding uphill, downhill or anything in between.

The electric bikes also have 5 other modes that you can easily toggle through either through the controller on the handle bar or the controller in the top tube of the bike. All Elite models come as standard with both.

As with any electric mountain bike you still need to change gear to get the best out of it. You wouldn’t try and drive everywhere in your car in just one gear. All Elite E-mountain bikes come with 1x12 groupsets with wide range gearing to take these built for purpose mountain bikes wherever you want to.
