Brit has a history of racing bikes and triathlon to a high level. She has provided us with a plan for the evening:
My presentation will consist of 2 parts:
In part one I will be drawing upon my own plentiful injury experiences, exposing the plentiful mistakes which caused them, and highlighting a set of pointers picked up along the way that have helped me to an injury free season. I will also highlight what to avoid from mistakes made during a previous injury rife season. Pointers will include a practical demonstration of typical home strength & conditioning and maintenance session which forms my daily & weekly routine. I will also share my typical warm up routine before swimming/cycling/running to which everybody can get involved. I will include some basic principles I apply to my training load having learned the hard way through a recent running injury.
In part two I will be addressing the prevention of injury through my experience as a sports therapist including common areas I have found that tend to let people down when it comes to managing risk factors for injury. This will include an outline of recommended basic lifestyle principles to try to implement to minimise the risk of injury.
The presentation will finish with a Q & A to discuss any queries that may have developed over the course of the presentation.
