What are some of your notable cycling career results and/or achievements? |
|
What's your favorite Liv bike? | The Liv Pique Advanced! |
What is your favorite Liv gear? | The liv mtb quick fix kit |
Why do you ride? | I ride because I love being on a bike, theres nothing like the feeling of flying down single track on two wheels, or the feeling after you’ve pushed to your max on your last interval. |
When did you first realize you loved cycling? | When I did my first xco in 2021. That feeling of racing at your limit and over technical terain, with other strong girls. |
What does the future of cycling look like to youhat does the future of cycling look like to you? | I’m hoping cycling will grow, its still pretty small in the sport world I’d say, and that more people will recognize all the hard work and passion that goes into this sport. |
What do you wish you knew when you were starting out as a cyclist? | How important strength work off the bike is to your cycling |
Who inspires you? | My mother. She’s had two hip replacements, has four children, and works incredibly hard to keep herself strong and healthy. Shes definitely a behind the scenes warrior |
Is there a woman in your life who has played an important role in you cycling journey? | Candice(Lill) has played a big role, especially over the past year. Her and her husband Darren were kind enough to let me travel with them to the world cups last year. I learned so much from them both, not just on racing, but on character as well. She’s an incredible human, with a lot of determination. |
How do you hope to have an impact on the next generation of cyclists? | I’d like to reach the top of performance in mountain biking, but whether that happens or not, i want to be humble, hardworking, and gracious, hopefully inspiring others to be so aswell. |
What have been the biggest barriers for you so far in your cycling journey, and how have you navigated/ overcome them? | Riding as a female in South Africa. I often can’t go alone as its unsafe, which leaves me constantly reliant on others. I’ve been fortunate to have a strong cycling community in my area that i can ride with. |
