Linda Indergand of Liv Factory Racing wins the Swiss National XCO Cross-Country Olympic Championships as part of the CIC Swiss Bike Cup, in Echallens, Switzerland, racing on her Pique Advanced 29.
The race course was steep and technical with a flat grassy finish. After the race, Indergand shared "I fought hard to have a good position leading into the technical part of the track so that I wouldn’t lose time behind slower riders. I worked with the top three riders for the first five laps, but in the last lap, I knew it was time to make a move and go for the win. Sina stayed with me when I tried to create a gap in the forest, and then again through the grass section. In the final corners before the finish, I made one last push, this last effort worked! I created a small gap and won my first Elite XCO Swiss title! It means a lot to me to represent Switzerland as the National Champion!"
Adding to her success, Indergand also claimed second place in the Swiss XCC Cross-Country Short Track Championships earlier in the weekend, engaging in a dramatic mud battle with a sprint to the finish line. “It rained a lot before the XCC and the race was really muddy. I couldn't see through my cycling glasses. I was hoping for first, but getting second gave me extra motivation for the XCO on Sunday."
