VeloNews reviewer Betsy Welch put the Liv Langma Advanced Pro Disc to an epic all-day test around the Front Range of Colorado. A self-proclaimed gravel lover, Welch demands a lot out of her road bikes and the Langma checked the boxes.

“First Ride” reviews usually involve typical rides on routes easily within the reviewer’s wheelhouse. For VeloNews reviewer Betsy Welch, that just happens to be a 195-mile, 17,000 foot, fourteen-and-a-half-hour ride on mixed road surfaces. Though Liv’s Langma Advanced Pro Disc was not designed with such a use in mind, the bike handled the majority of the challenges Welch threw its way – passing test after test with flying colors. Designed as a featherweight all-arounder road race bike with a penchant for climbs, the Langma had Welch raving on its comfort, agility, and confidence-inspiring hydraulic disc brakes.

“I tend more toward gravel for my road riding, but the Langma had me jonesing for more tarmac,” said Welch. “I can’t believe I’m saying this out loud, but at one point on my epic ride I wondered how I’d fare in an actual road race. It might have been the lack of oxygen talking, but I’m pretty sure it was the bike.”

At 5’6” with a long torso, Welch tested the medium Langma Advanced Pro 1 Disc.
