The Sea Otter Classic bike festival wrapped its 28th year on Sunday after four days of rides, clinics and races at the Laguna Seca Raceway. Liv athletes competed in a variety of events including enduro, downhill, dual slalom, cross-country and short track mountain biking as well as cyclocross. Leading the charge was Crystal Anthony of the Liv Co-Factory Team, taking the win in the women’s pro CX race on her Liv Brava SLR.
The Sea Otter enduro took place on Thursday with four pedally stages. Stage race specialist Kaysee Armstrong put in a strong showing against the international enduro field, finishing 11th aboard her Pique Advanced 0. Anthony finished just behind Armstrong, placing 13th in her first enduro.
Giant Factory Off-Road enduro athlete Rae Morrison raced to a 10th place finish in Saturday’s dual slalom and flew into 6th during the downhill on Sunday. Also racing the pro women’s gravity events was Liv Cycling global employee Caroline Washam, who finished 6th in dual slalom and rode to 7th in downhill aboard her Hail Advanced 0.
In XC racing, Anthony earned two more top-20 finishes in the pro women’s field – 11th in short track and 17th in XC – with Armstrong close behind – 12th and 23rd respectively in a deep field of international XC pros. Both Anthony and Armstrong raced the XC events aboard their Liv Obsess Advanced team bikes.
Up next, Liv’s XC athletes travel to the Whiskey 50 in Prescott, AZ this weekend, while Rae Morrison prepares for the 3rd round of the Enduro World Series in France May 12-13.
