Liv Factory Racing athlete Ronja Blochlinger dominated the U23 Cross-country Short Track XCC in Lenzerheide today in the second round of the UCI MTB World Cup. After a strong start ahead of the pack, the Swiss rider took control of the race and crossed the finish line with a smile and an 11-second lead.
About halfway through the race, Blöchlinger closely trailed Sofie Pedersen, just after a loose corner Blöchlinger took the chance to attack out ahead and create a gap, propelling herself out front to ride the final laps completely unrivaled. "I did not plan to attack with still four laps till the finish, but I felt Ginia on my wheel behind me and noticed Sofie ahead of me slip slightly on a corner - I took the chance to get ahead and it worked!" Blöchlinger exclaimed after the race. "It felt cool to ride the final laps by myself, I really enjoyed racing this track and very happy with my result."
After making history in Nové Město last month as the first-ever winner of the newly added U23 XCC category, Blochlinger will continue to showcase her leader's jersey as she competes for this season's top position.
