WARRANTY INFORMATION

The following limited warranty applies to all current Liv bicycles manufactured from 2012 onwards. For 2011 and older model bicycles, please consult your owner's manual or contact Liv or your Liv authorized retailer for the applicable warranty information.

Giant Group does not guarantee individual records of serial numbers. If there is a loss or theft, your personal records will be needed. Please make sure to keep your proof of purchase in case a warranty case needs to be registered.

Important: Please make note of the model name and serial number of your Liv bicycle.

Position of the frame serial number

You will find the frame number of your Liv bicycle on the seat tube, under the top tube, near the bottom bracket shell (crankset housing), on the underside of the bottom bracket shell or on the left rear dropout (rear hub).

In case of difficulties, check with your Liv authorized retailer to determine the location of the serial number on your bicycle. Keep your proof of purchase for reference; this record will also help you with any police investigation or insurance claim.

Required assembly when purchased

This warranty applies only to bicycles and framesets purchased new from a Liv authorized retailer and assembled by that dealer at the time of purchase.

Registration and extended warranty coverage

Starting August 1st, 2022, registered bicycles will received extended benefits as outlined below. A registered bicycle is defined as being registered online by the original owner within 90 days of the purchase date. You can register your bicycle on the Liv website.

Limited warranty

Although taking your product to be serviced by a repair shop that is not an Liv authorized dealer will not void this warranty, and using third-party parts alone will not void this warranty, Liv does not warrant non-genuine Liv parts and is not obligated to pay for repairs of non-genuine Liv parts or repairs. Liv warrants for the original owner under limited conditions that the frame, rigid fork, original component parts, rider gear or service gear of each new Liv product including E-bikes and Liv brand framesets to be free from defects in material and workmanship for the below specified periods. This warranty applies only to bicycles, framesets and gear originally purchased new from, and assembled by, an Liv authorized dealer or Liv online web stores.

Second owner warranty

To be environmentally responsible and encourage a circular economy, registered bicycles will have the original Frame warranty extended to the second owner for 2 years (other successive owners are not included and other parts are not included). The warranty period remains effective from the original purchase date by the first owner.

1) Warranty for 3rd-party components is covered by the warranty guidelines of the original brand. 2) Second Owner warranty will only be valid if the original owner registered the bicycle. 3) Warranty on frame and Rigid fork will not surpass the original warranty limitation. (*Registered bikes only)

Non-Giant/Liv branded parts

Also known as 3rd-party component that are equipped to Liv’s complete bike, including suspension forks, rear shock, and group set, shall be covered exclusively by the stated warranty of their original manufacturer.

Limited remedy

Unless otherwise provided, the sole remedy under the above warranty, or any implied warranty, is limited to the replacement of defective parts with those of equal or greater value at the sole discretion of Liv. This warranty extends from the date of purchase, applies only to the original owner, and is not transferable unless the bicycle is registered. In no event shall Liv be responsible for any direct, incidental or consequential damages, including, without limitation, damages for personal injury, property damage, or economic losses, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence, product liability, or any other theory.

Exclusions

The above warranty, or any implied warranty, does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear on parts such as tires, chains, brakes, cables and gearwheels in situations where there are no assembly or material defects.
  • Improper maintenance, assembly or installation.
  • Corrosion.
  • Modifications from the original condition.
  • Use of the bicycle for abnormal, competition, and / or commercial activities or for purposes other than those for which the bicycle was designed.
  • Damage caused by failing to follow the owner’s manual.
  • Damage or failure due to accident, neglect, abuse or abnormal and excessive misuse.
  • Improper alteration or installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the bicycle as sold.
  • All specifications on our bikes have been carefully selected, tested and verified to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. It is strongly recommended to always have your bike frequently serviced, inspected and repaired by an authorized dealer or qualified bicycle specialists. Modifications or change to non-original specification may result in compromised compatibility, reduction of performance, failure to function safely or in worst case, injuries to the rider.
  • Paint finish and decal damage resulting from taking part in competitions, jumping, downhill and/or training for such activities or events, or as a result of exposing the bike to, or riding the bike in, severe conditions or climates.

Except as is provided by this warranty and subject to all additional warranties, Liv and its employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including incidental and consequential loss or damage caused by negligence or default) arising from or concerning any Liv product.

Liv makes no other warranties, express or implied. All implied warranties, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited in duration to that of the express warranties stated above.

Any claim against this warranty must be made through a Liv authorized retailer or distributor. The purchase receipt or other proof of the date of purchase is required before a warranty claim may be processed.

Claims made outside the country of purchase may be subject to fees and additional restrictions.

Warranty duration and details may differ by country. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from place to place. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS.
