Liv AlUla Jayco rider delivers a dominant ride to secure her second national TT crown

Liv AlUla Jayco rider Ella Wyllie delivered a commanding performance at the New Zealand Time Trial Championships, powering to victory aboard her Avow Advanced SL to claim her second elite national title against the clock.

The 23-year-old covered the 24.4km course in a time of 37:46, securing the win by nearly 30 seconds over her closest rival.

Wyllie will now turn her attention to the 122km road race, where she’ll look to reclaim the national title she last won in 2024.

“It’s really special to win today in front of family and friends,” Wyllie said. “I’ve been working hard on my time trialing with the team, and it’s awesome to see that effort pay off. There’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into a race like this well before race day, so a huge thanks to everyone involved.

“It’s always special coming back home to do what I do for a living thousands of kilometres away on the other side of the world. There’s a bit of pressure, but I think pressure is a privilege when you’re doing what you love.

“I hadn’t given much thought to wearing the national jersey on the WorldTour, so that’s pretty emotional. I can’t wait to represent the fern in some big time trials this year in Europe and do New Zealand proud.”
