Liv Canada Off-Road athlete Tayte Proulx-Royds took the win at Silverstar BC Cup / Canada Cup & Provincial Championships, becoming the first female in British Columbia to earn XC and DH champion titles in the same year.

Last weekend, Liv Canada Off-Road athlete Tayte Proulx-Royds defended her DH Provincial Champion title aboard her new custom Hail Advanced at SilverStar BC Cup / Canada Cup & Provincial Championships.

"I had an amazing weekend and an amazing run! I had some minor mistakes at the top of my run but refocused and got back into tunnel vision and had a super clean run! It’s pretty funny because I actually didn’t know that the DH race was the Provincial Championships. I went into the race relaxed with no pressure but then I realized when I was on the podium that I was the provincial champ! I so stoked after that!" says the 13-year-old athlete.

Tayte is the first female to earn the BC Provincial Champion titles in both disciplines, XC and DH, in the same year. Back in May, she also took the win at the 2022 BC Mountain Bike XC Provincial Championships in Abbotsford, BC. "It’s pretty insane to have taken both the XC and DH provincial champ jersey! I never had expected that to happen. But, I felt very confident before both of the races and worked very hard to get to the top!"
