Follow Liv’s Trail Squad Teams at Absa Cape Epic

The 2018 Absa Cape Epic, an eight day mountain bike stage race in South Africa with a total distance of 658km and 13,530m of climbing, began Sunday, March 18 with a Prologue in Cape Town. This year, Liv has supported four women’s teams, including one pro team in the event.

Each of the six women who make up Liv’s amateur teams won the opportunity by entering in Liv’s 2017 contest to be a part of the Trail Squad and were chosen because of their focus on making an impact in their communities and their passion for mountain biking. With a Liv Pique mountain bike and Liv gear, support and mentorship from professional XC racers Serena Bishop Gordon and Kaysee Armstrong, and five new training buddies, each of the Trail Squad women trained hard to compete in the biggest adventure of their lives.

All teams have successfully completed the Prologue (20km, 600m climbing) and Stage 1 (110km, 1900m climbing). Tuesday, the team will embark on their second long day on the bike on a route that takes them 106km with 2000m of climbing through Robertson, South Africa, and the surrounding area.

You can follow the Squad on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, or by visiting www.cape-epic.com and tracking the rider’s progress.
