Shelley Hayashi

I rediscovered cycling when I moved to Japan. A friend set me up with a mountain bike when living in the mountains I thought I should use it. I learned to mountain bike and used it as a mode of transportation to visit the countryside. I continued to mountain bike when I returned to Canada. I have continued to ride from triathlons to road cycling, cycle touring and more mountain biking. I might be slower but the joy never ends.

Favorite bikeMy Intrigue, because it is my new bike and makes me a kick-ass rider.
Favorite place to rideCanmore, Alberta. Because has great riding for every ability and the mountain views and landscape are the best.
Must-have cycling accessoryPadded cycling shorts. I started riding in the late 90s when spandex padded shorts were cool. Now that I am older I appreciate the padding even more. But I have learned to wear cool shorts on top when mountain biking.
When I am not ridingSwimming, jogging, and reading.
Life GoalTo live a life of adventure with like minded friends and family.
What I rideI love road biking for the team spirit and the fast pace and routine. I love mountain biking for the challenge and the excitement. I love touring for the adventure and exploring new places.
