Every time I'm on a bike, I still feel like that little girl on her bananna seat pedalling around the neighbourhood, pretending she can't hear that she's being called in for dinner. Many of my fondest memories involve bikes and I've always felt "right" when riding - calm, yet excited.
Riding just makes my life better; whether it's learning a new skill, reducing stress, keeping me present, getting in a workout, conquering a hill or riding down one, it's fun. It's taken me places I would've otherwise never gone. I've met some great people though cycling and found most are eager to pass on what they can just out of pure love of the sport. Any ride is a good one, no matter who you're with but the energy on a ladies ride is especially cool. It's great to session spots and get out of your comfort zone a bit together. Everyone bonds, encourages and feeds off each other. You hear chatter, laughter, and sound effects. The more experienced riders share, the more timid soak it in. I like that no matter how skilled a rider you are, you always have something to learn and something to teach. Everyone can share in that and enjoy it...just get on a bike! Photo: J_Petznick
