I started cycling as a kid and bought my first BMX bike with paper route money. In the 1990s, I spent time mountain biking in Jasper, Alberta, before taking on endurance racing, completing my first Ironman in 1999. Since then, I've done more than a dozen Ironman races, including Ultraman Canada, and participated in many ultra-cycling events, like Ride to Survive. In 2008, I became a community triathlon coach, and by 2016, I had taken on ride leader and skills clinic leader training with Cycling BC. While I once pushed my limits with extreme endurance challenges, today I ride year-round with a focus on the ride community and the connections it brings. Looking ahead, I aspire to create Ride Retreats in my not-too-distant retirement, combining my passion for cycling, coaching, and community building.
