Tell us a bit more about you. How did you discover cycling?

I’ve always been on a bike since being a little kid but my passion was really sparked at age 12 when I learned about triathlon and was determined to compete in one. I borrowed a bike (a Men’s Size M 10 speed… it was a bit big) and was hooked at that moment. For my 13th birthday, my parents bought me a Giant OCR road bike and I cried when I got the bike and basically it was my most prized possession for years. That’s how it all started. Ironically, I lived on a farm with only gravel roads so would have to be transported to the highway so I could ride my bike and I spent A LOT of time learning how to road ride and the passion for cycling and triathlon continued to grow from there.

According to you, how can bike shops be more welcoming for women?

As I’ve grown in the sport, creating welcoming spaces for women has become incredibly important to me. It always helps when the staff is friendly upon entrance (love that about Tantalus Bike Shop) so a woman can feel comfortable asking any cycling related questions. I find it helps to have women specific apparel as well so that we don’t feel like we are just shopping in a men’s sporting world.

How would you like to support your partner Liv retailer?

Host women specific events such as Q&A on intro to bike mechanics, continue to run triathlon related clinics (MTB specific) and promote TBS, promote women to join on trail dig days.TBS supports SORCA events and I would like to volunteer more to show that women also belong in the store (even though it is super welcoming, having more female faces can further support women).

What aspect of Liv resonates with you the most?

For Women. By Women. I love that Liv thinks about women needs and caters to these specifics to further promote women in the cycling community and it’s from a women’s perspective so it feels quite relatable. It really is more of a lifestyle vs. Trying to fit into a community that was originally dominated by men. We’ve come so far in the cycling community and I hope that it continues to expand. How we Liv it something I try to encompass and I feel that Liv does a great job promoting this and I am grateful to be a part of this strong and powerful community supporting women in cycling.

What's a major project you would like to achieve as a Liv Ambassador in 2026?

Being a Liv ambassador for a few years, I myself have seen changes in growth and participation in the cycling community as a female. I have had a lot of success in the sport of off road triathlon and have felt the highest highs, which I am grateful for. As any athlete, I have also gone through some personal challenges with being a female and a maturing athlete that I would love to further share and create an environment of support and community for those going through this as well. I think it is important to recognize the growth and perseverance as well as the challenges and obstacles.
I will continue to run off road triathlon clinics and have been invited by all the local race organizers to provide these which are in my calendar as well so I look forward to continuing this and promoting the Liv brand, TBS and women in off-road triathlon and MTBing. Thanks for the support!
