What is your favorite Liv bike? | |
How did you get into cycling? | My parents encouraged me to be physically active all my life. Before I could walk, I tagged along on hikes or ski days in a backpack carried on my dad's back. Before I could ride a bike, I rode aboard a carrier on his bike. Once I could ride on my own, family outings quickly expanded to two-wheeled day trips. when I was 8 years old, I went on my first multi-day cycling trip, carrying my own gear. In the 90s, when I was in high school, mountain biking and singletrack riding had blown up and I bought my first real mountain bike so I could join a group of my guy friends who were riding trails near my house. After a while, they recognized my abilities and encouraged me to try racing in the local high school series. The rest is history. |
I am committed to... | Bringing my best everyday... as well as encouraging girls and women to discover the awesomeness of riding bikes! |
What piece of advice would you give to your 13-year-old self? | Dream big. |
Why do you ride? | Cycling helps me maintain my strong connection to nature and it challenges me physically, mentally and technically. It's a vehicle for discovering new places. If I'm having a bad day, all I need to do is get on my bike and everything feels right again. Cycling has helped me find my tribe and a place I truly feel I belong. |
Who inspires you? | I'm inspired by my teammates and all of the women behind Liv. They are truly dauntless and unapologetic in their dedication to promoting and advancing women's cycling. |
What's your secret talent? | I'm an excellent speller. |
What's one thing you learned about yourself in 2020? | I've learned that no matter how prepared I think I am, something might happen that I couldn't expect, so it's important to have a Plan B, and C, and D.... |
