After four stages, CCC-Liv’s Marianne Vos continues her reign on the last stage race of the year at the Tour of the Ardèche in France. She heads into Stage 5 with a two minute lead in the general classification.

Marianne Vos passes the halfway point of the 7-day Tour Cycliste Féminin International de l'Ardèche with victories on three out of four stages. Though she was unable to secure a podium spot for the first time on Monday’s 138km test, she finished securely in the peloton to keep her GC lead safe and sound.

After kicking things off with a commanding win on Friday, Vos backed her performance up with two more wins on Stage 2 and 3 over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday’s stages both ended with Vos powering to a sprint finish aboard her Liv Langma Advanced SL. On Stage 2, she entered the home stretch with just one other rider, who she managed to outwit and outsprint for the win. The following day, Vos positioned herself at the front over the entire 131km, getting away with a group of five within the final kilometers and sprinting to a two-second victory over the other four riders. Over the four days, Jeanne Korevaar has played a pivotal role in CCC-Liv’s success, particularly after their three other teammates were forced to drop out of the race due to illness.

“The development of the [fourth] stage was very favourable for us,” said sports director Jeroen Blijlevens. “Marianne Vos was in the peloton with her leader's jersey and Jeanne Korevaar was well positioned at the front. The leading group was not challenging the general classification. It is a pity that Jeanne did not finish closer. If there is one rider who is always ready for the team, it is definitely her.”

With three stages left to go, Vos and Korevaar will continue to push for top positions to secure CCC-Liv’s position in the general classification.
