Radka Kahlefeldt secured the win at Challenge Walchsee in Austria on Sunday, fighting brutally hot temperature as well as a technical and hilly bike course aboard her Avow Advanced Pro.

Just one week after her bronze medal at European Championships, Liv Racing’s Radka Kahlefeldt dominated Challenge Walchsee, Austria from start to finish.

The conditions were extremely hot, mid-day temperatures were near 38 degrees Celsius (100 F), and the hilly bike and run courses added to the difficulty of the race. Kahlefeldt was the first out of the water and made it through T1 quickly to her Avow Advanced Pro. The technical bike course didn’t prove to be a problem for Kahlefeldt, as she pushed the pace and increased her gap on the rest of the competition. She maintained her lead to cross the finish line in 4:19:45, about two minutes ahead of the second place finisher.

“After the second bike lap, I had the courage to ride the very technical downhill passages more aggressively to shake off Emma [Pallant], because I definitely didn’t want to risk a head-to-head run in the half marathon,” Kahlefeldt told Challenge-Family.com.

In two weeks, Kahlefeldt will head to Vietnam for the next Ironman 70.3 event.
