The 2023 season is shaping up to be a comeback year for Isabella Naughton. This past Saturday the Liv Racing Collective athlete hit her fourth podium of the summer, taking home a bronze at the USA Cycling Gravity Mountain Bike National Championships in the Pro Women's Enduro.
After suffering a broken ankle at the National Championships last year which cut her season short, Naughton returned for another shot and finished in third place on her Intrigue LT Advanced Pro 0 just 37 seconds behind the winner. "After breaking my ankle at Nationals last year I was determined to stand on the podium," exclaimed Naughton after the race. "I am always happy with a good result but I am looking for more and motivated to keep working to go faster."
Trail practice and rest were important factors leading up to this race following her podium finish at the Big Mountain Enduro, Durango last week. "I knew I needed to get as much rest as I could to be recovered for this weekend. Practice was dry and the dirt was awesome, but that quickly changed when the rain decided to make an appearance and create a muddy slippery mess for race day," she continued "I’m looking forward to going back next year and fighting for the National Champ title!"
